REIKI
What to expect
Basic things to remember before, during and after a session
- The Reiki practitioner is the Vessel/Channel and nothing else. Any healing outcome is determined by the client and spirit. If you are not open or do not accept healing, none will occur. We are NOT doctors.
- All clients and their bodies are different; therefore, treatment techniques and length of time may vary.
- Energy has a mind of its own and will go where it is needed most in the body.
- Reiki practitioners are respectful and aware of the sacred position give to them by their clients. The upmost respect, privacy and complete confidentiality are always given. We look to create a safe space for our clients.
- Bring an open heart and mind during every treatment as it will strengthen the healing process.
- Client feedback is appreciated but by no means mandatory.
- Allergies and sensitivities will be respected.
- There is no judgement before, during or after a treatment. Every client releases whatever they need to release in different ways. There is no wrong way.
- Touching is not always required; please let your preference be known prior to treatment.
- After a session you may possibly experience a mild bout of diarrhea, more frequent urination, headaches, dizzy spells, more or less energy, fatigue, feel more emotional (happy or sad). These are just the bodies ways of releasing toxic build up from blocked Chakras. These symptoms may very and last up to eight (8) hours.
- Lastly, there is no “ONE ANSWER” to healing. You must decide for yourself the journey that works for you. Reiki is a complimentary treatment and will enhance every client’s journey for a balanced body and soul.
Reiki
The spiritual healing art of Reiki works by channeling positive energy into your body, with Reiki masters and practitioners typically placing their hands on the affected areas of the body that need a boost, offering this energy and your body takes in the energy where most needed,
A complete Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair.
Most commonly, Reiki is offered through light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner’s hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head and front and back of the torso. The placement of the hands should never be intrusive or inappropriate, nor should there be any pressure.
Additional placements on the limbs could be done as needed (for example, if there is an injury or surgical scar). The Reiki practitioner can hold their hands just off the body if needed (for example, in the presence of an open wound or burn.
What you may experience
A Reiki experience is subjective, changeable, and sometimes very subtle. People often experience heat in the practitioner’s hands, but sometimes the practitioner’s hands feel refreshingly cool. Other common experiences are subtle pulsations where the practitioner’s hands are placed or cascading waves of pulsations throughout the body.
People often comment how comforting they find the experience of Reiki to be. Some people fall into a deep, sleeplike meditative state. Sometimes the experience of Reiki is dramatic, while for other people, the first session in particular may be uneventful, although they feel somehow more calm, relaxed and generally better afterward. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.
Reiki is cumulative and even people who don’t notice much the first time usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue.
After I leave my session, should I do anything special?
Please drink plenty of water to hydrate your body as your body’s energy system may be moving at a more optimum rate, so please care for yourself with water and healthy food during the day. It is beneficial to spend some quiet time that day or evening after your session to journal or to contemplate as you may have some insights and further mental clarity as your body continues to process the Reiki session.
